As we were recently reviewing the content of the the homepage of the site, I noticed a section about how long the 48822 Morphy Richards soup maker has been around for. It’s quite remarkable how well it’s lasted, and made me realised that there are very few products at all that stand the test of time so well.
I had a bit of an aimless wander around the internet to see what other people had said about it over the years, and found this write up on the Casa Costella blog from way back in 2012 that caught my attention. It’s quite interesting how similar the latest models still look, demonstrating how little has changed in the world of soup making in the last decade. Of course, soup is something that doesn’t change much – it’s more the recipes that evolve over time rather than the soup making process itself.
I just thought it was an interesting observation that seven years on from that post and still Morphy Richards are the go to brand for soup making, regardless of which review you read (even if we do happen to think ours are the best!), and how old the machine you happen to be researching is.
